As part of an ongoing effort to characterize the space enterprise community in the State of California, CSA, in conjunction with Booz | Allen | Hamilton, has developed a Geographic Information System (GIS) for accessing an underlying database that contains information about space entities in California. Phase one is complete and has yielded this initial snapshot of the Space Enterprise Community in California.

The project is not complete. Hunting for space entities continues, and updating even the existing records will be an unending task. Please direct any corrections, additions, comments, etc. to Jamie Foster.

Guests are welcome to peruse the GIS maps. Only locations and company names will be available to Guests.

CSA Members have full access to the information behind the entity names, including contact information, key person, and some stats. Full access also includes a query/search capability not available to Guests. If you are a CSA Member (Voting Delegate) in good standing and have not received access instructions, please contact Jamie Foster. [CSA Membership information]

A User Guide (PDF) is available by clicking on the button so marked in the upper right corner of the opening map window. There is also a brief toolbar help button above the toolbar on the left.

To log in as a CSA Member, click on this button here or when you get to the first GIS California Space Enterprise Map screen. It's on the left side of the screen just above the CSA logo.

Next anticipated maintenance/down time: Friday, August 13, 2004, 4:00 pm-6:00 pm (PDT). The Users Guide and Map Tools Help will be updated.

Note: This GIS web server works best with the more recent versions of Netscape and Internet Explorer. If you're using an older version of Netscape, you may have to hit Reload/Refresh to load the initial page.
