Workers' Compensation Reform - Sample Letter
(Date)
(Legislator's or Governor's Name)
State Capitol Building
Sacramento, CA 95814
Dear Representative ___________________
Dear Senator_________________________
Dear Governor Schwarzenegger,
The state's workers' compensation insurance program continues to do great damage to our business climate here in California. While the program currently provides inadequate benefits to injured employees, it requires employers to pay insurance premiums that are among the highest in the country. This is unacceptable. Both the employee and the business climate are suffering and it most be changed now.
I want the Legislature to produce real reform of the workers' compensation insurance program. Failing that, the Governor can count on my support for an initiative that will place reform of this program on the ballot.
Sincerely,
(Signature and address)
