Randall Echevarria is the Project Manager at the California Space Authority's (CSA), State and Local Government Affairs office in Sacramento. CSA is a non-profit corporation founded to promote and advocate the continuing development and growth of California's Space Enterprise industry.
Randall is currently a student at California State University Sacramento, earning his Bachelors in Government. In 2002 he was given the opportunity to work for the California Environmental Protection Agency as a student assistant through the University Foundation. There, Randall began learning the legislative processes and quickly became a co-organizer of the California Governor's Environmental and Economic Leadership Awards. He also found his place organizing stakeholder meetings for the California Climate Action Team and contributed to the agency by creating a property re-utilization center.
In 2005, after nearly four years of environmental work, Randall went to work for the Office of Rusty Selix, a lobbyist representing mental health agencies, local government issues and retired teachers. Randall was the co-organizer of the California Outreach and Education Collaborative, managed client relations on one of the state contracts and was an assistant to the various offices.
Randall is responsible for assisting the director in State and Local Government Relations, California Space Day Sacramento, bill research, tracking and analysis and supports various programs through the U.S. Department of Labor's WIRED initiative.
As the staff liaison to the Business Development, Retention and Growth Collaborative (BDRG), Randall is engaged on issues that effect California Space Enterprise business climate. The collaborative group seeks to give CSA members, and other space community stakeholders, insight into the various challenges space enterprise faces. The BDRG oversees the Small Business Group and Space Venturing group that support the overall goal "to provide a positive, supportive business climate and space enterprise environment, addressing obstacles to and opportunities for California space enterprise competitiveness."
Randall enjoys taking advantage of Sacramento's close proximity to the Sierras and Tahoe with every opportunity. |
