Patricia Ruiz-Baker serves as CSA's Officer Manager, responsible for managing the organization's multifaceted travel activities, logistics support and senior executive scheduling and assistance. She brings over twenty two years of corporate administrative experience to CSA's member client advocacy, outreach and service activities.
A native of the San Fernando Valley, Ms. Ruiz is a graduate of Pierce College in Woodland Hills, where her curriculum included business, computer science and psychology. She began her administrative career with the Pierce National Life Insurance Company as a payroll specialist. As an administrator with Blue Cross of Southern California, she was responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll and medical insurance claims.
Ms. Ruiz joined Southern California's aerospace industry in 1988 as an administrator with Rocketdyne Corporation's Facilities Department. In this role, she was responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to a 27-person Industrial Engineering operation with global responsibilities. Moving to an executive support position with Global Geochemistry Corporation (GGC), Ms. Ruiz served as the administrator and personal secretary to the company president of GGC. She developed and implemented tracking and accountability systems for technical and engineering time sensitive reports, research data and publications. She also handled human resources administration and personnel scheduling systems while at GGC.
When California Space and Technology Alliance needed an experienced administrator in 1997 to support its newly-legislated role as a statewide space enterprise organization, Ms. Ruiz was a logical choice to organize the extensive travel, conference arrangements, and administrative support needed to develop the California Space Strategic Plan and California Space Infrastructure Program. Since joining CSA in March of 2000, her travel and conferencing role has expanded to include Executive Office Administrator for CSA's Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, as well as corporate logistics and procurement. |
