CSA Joins Coalition for Space Exploration

As a means to demonstrate its support for NASA's Moon to Mars Initiative, the California Space Authority (CSA) has joined the Coalition for Space Exploration. The mission of the nationwide Coalition is to ensure that the United States remains a leader in space, science, and technology by ensuring that the NASA Moon to Mars Initiative is understood and supported by both the public and Congress.

The Coalition is an ad-hoc alliance comprised of three parts - a Public Affairs/Public Outreach team, an Action/Implementation team, and a Legislative team. The Coalition began in February 2004, shortly after the President's announcement that the nation would return to the Moon and travel on to Mars.

Coalition members include (in alphabetical order) Aerojet, ATK Thiokol, Boeing, the Florida Space Authority, Hamilton Sundstrand, Lockheed Martin, Moog, Pratt & Whitney, Space Foundation, and the United Space Alliance. Several of these companies have a significant presence in California.
