On Friday, April 6, 2007, AR Tech, Division of A&R Tarpaulins, Inc. of Fontana, California, received notification that the company has been registered as compliant with the Aerospace Standard, AS-9100B. The registration also includes the re-certification of AR Tech meeting ISO-9001:2000 international quality standards.
The company received the registration based on their score of 98.4% during the three-day audit that was conducted by the Canadian international auditing company, QMI.
AS-9100B is the quality standard that is quickly becoming a requirement for subcontractors to the major contractors in the aerospace industry. Without the registration of compliance to this standard, subcontractors may not be in the future position to provide products and services to the aerospace major contractors. At the same time, registration provides ensurance to companies such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, United Launch Alliance, Sea Launch and Northrop that the company has passed a rigorous examination of the processes and procedures necessary to comply with quality and on time delivery standards to support their requirements.
