California Space Day Sacramento
April 12, 2005
A CSA Space Day Activity
The California Space Authority’s 2005 Space Day in Sacramento was a huge success. Space companies, NASA centers, educational institutions, local governments and community-based organizations supporting local military installations all participated to ensure that a well-rounded space enterprise community voice was heard. We had eight teams totaling 35 space enterprise community representatives, and we met with 55 Legislators and staffers. Our message focused on five key issue areas:
- Improving Space Enterprise Climate
- Education and Workforce Development Improvements
- Use of Satellite Technology in Homeland Security and Public Safety
- Base Realignment and Closure Preparedness
- NASA’s Impact on California’s Economy
After the day of meetings, we adjourned to the Governor’s Council Room for a reception and networking opportunity. Almost 70 people attended the reception, including many state administration officials, Legislators and their staffers. A few highlighted pictures are attached.
