Recommendation:
- Support Senate Bill 193 (Maldonado)
Expands the sales tax exemption for the purpose of space flight to include property used for the purpose of assembly, launch, or transport, and tangible property used in spaceport operations. Space Launch is key to the retention and growth of the greater space enterprise community and California must remain competitive in a global market.
- Support Senate Bill 910 (Ashburn)
This measure is intended to assist the Mojave Spaceport prepare for greater commercial launch activities by granting the East Kern Airport District 240 acres from the Department of Transportation.
- Support reinstatement of funding for the California Space Grant Program in the amount of $2 million (Government Code 13999.4).
