2nd Annual California Space Enterprise SpotBeam Awards Dinner, Dec. 2
Topping off the CSA space conference December 1-2, this year's second annual California SpotBeam Awards Dinner will be held the evening of Friday, December 2, 2005, also at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel at LAX. Don't miss it.

Sea Launch Delivers Inmarsat-4 Satellite to Orbit
Sea Launch Company successfully delivered the Inmarsat-4 (I-4) communications satellite to geosynchronous transfer orbit (GTO). Early data indicate the spacecraft is in excellent condition.

Falcon 1 Launch Postponed, NET Mid-December
A frustrating scrub Saturday ended the first shot at launching the privately-developed (SpaceX) Falcon 1 rocket, delaying until sometime in December the debut mission of this new low-cost booster fleet that could revolutionize the space marketplace.

House Adopts Ehlers Bill to Revitalize U.S. Aerospace Workforce
Seeking to revitalize an industry that could find itself in crisis in the very near future due to a rapid drain of workers, the U.S. House of Representatives recently approved the creation of a federal inter-agency aerospace revitalization task force.

SpaceDev Orders SpaceX Falcon Launch Vehicle
The launch vehicle is planned for multiple primary microsatellite payloads and multiple secondary nanosatellite payloads produced by SpaceDev or other suppliers. SpaceDev has tentatively scheduled the first launch for May 2008.

Resolutions Supporting California Space Center--Lompoc and Santa Barbara County Weigh In
The City of Lompoc and the County of Santa Barbara County adopted resolutions in support of the California Space Center, an effort led by CSA on 66 acres at Vandenberg Air Force Base, on November 15, and November 22, respectively. The City resolution stated "unanmious and dedicated support" for the concept while the County resolution stated that the Center "would benefit the entire Central Coast" by providing space-related visitor attractions that "could motivate students to study math, science and engineering". SpaceDev Introduces Low Cost Modular Microsatellite
SpaceDev announced a new high performance microsatellite product program named the SpaceDev Modular Microsat Bus(TM). The SpaceDev MMB-100 microsat is a highly capable modular 100 kg (220 pound) microsatellite based on industry standard "Plug-n-Play" interfaces.
