CSA Space Day in Sacramento, May 2
Join the space enterprise community in Sacramento on May 2, 2007 for CSA's annual Space Day. We'll be converging on the State Capitol to speak with Legislators about key issues facing our industry, including science and math instruction, career technical education and workforce development. We'll also be promoting the three NASA centers in California and shining the spotlight on the economic potential of space tourism. Dan Dunmoyer, the Governor's Cabinet Secretary, will be a feature speaker during our luncheon. DoL Lauds CSA of WIRED Grant as "Model" for Nation (PDF)

California Space Enterprise Strategic Plan Implementation
Implementation of the California Space Enterprise Strategic Plan 2007-2010 begins in earnest this month with the scheduling in April and May of the five statewide collaboratives and working groups implementing the Plan's five strategic initiatives. As "trustee" of California space enterprise strategic planning, California Space Authority (CSA) facilitates collaborative development and implementation of this strategic plan, with the support of the Space Enterprise Advisory Council. CSA is actively recruiting for the New Space Professionals Working Group (NSPWG), a highly visible group formed to represent the voice and perspective of new space professionals by actively engaging them in space enterprise leadership activities.

California Supply Chain Survey
Fifty percent of all US aerospace suppliers are based in California; with 80% of the workforce employed in companies with less than 100 employees. The impact of the California supplier network is huge; a single major manufacturer has 6,000 Californian suppliers spending $5.6B annually with them, affecting 60,000 jobs. California is the world‚s 6th largest economy. Please respond to and distribute this important survey to your manufacturers and supply chain constituents. Responses will be collected from 4/16/07 through 6/30/07.

Santa Barbara Space Enterprise Day, May 18
The City of Santa Barbara has proclaimed May 18 as Space Enterprise Day. In conjunction with that proclamation, the Santa Barbara Industrial Association will host two meetings that day to discuss space enteprise. The first meeting will be a breakfast meeting at 8 a.m. featuring NASA Astronaut and motivational speaker Rick Searfoss at the Fess Parker DoubleTree Resort. The second meeting will also feature Searfoss and will focus on the planned California Space Center. It will begin at noon and be held at the Santa Barbara Airport.
