CSA 2007 Policy/Legislative Survey Now Available
This survey is provided as a way for space enterprise community stakeholders to provide input into the policy and legislative priorities of CSA over the upcoming year. As a basis, we have used the recommendations identified in the 2007 California Space Enterprise Strategic Plan. This survey asks you to review these action items and prioritize them by pointing out those in need of the most immediate attention.

West Coast Venture Capital Conference, March 10-11
The West Coast Venture Capital Conference has been scheduled for March 10-11, 2008 at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa in Monterey, CA. Early stage companies interested in presenting should email up to a three-page executive summary to entrepreneur@goldencapital.net. Space is limited, so companies should submit now. General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced recently that the President has nominated: Air Force Maj Gen. William L. Shelton for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commander, Fourteenth Air Force (Air Forces Strategic-Space) Air Force Space Command, and commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Space, U.S. Strategic Command, Vandenberg AFB, Calif. Shelton is currently serving as commander, Fourteenth Air Force, Air Force Space Command, and commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Space, U.S. Strategic Command, Vandenberg AFB, Calif.

Loral was featured recently on the television show "Wired Science" on (Nov 14 8:00pm). An online version of the show is available.

California Teacher of the Year
Lewis Chappelear teaches Engineering Design, including robotics, at James Monroe High School in North Hills, CA (San Fernando Valley). He has long coached FIRST Robotics Competition teams, and several FIRST Tech Challeneg teams. This week Lewis was named California's Teacher of the Year, along with four other teachers. Lewis has been designated to be California's candidate for U.S. Teacher of the Year.
