We've all heard the horror stories about retirements from the space enterprise community reaching as high as 50 percent over the next ten years. Replacing these retirees is a problem of national security concern, as well as the impact it will have on California's ability to compete. Fewer students are competent in math and science or technical training. An aerospace and technology workforce crisis looms that will affect not only private enterprise but also the Department of Defense, NASA and other high-tech federal entities. To address this concern, the California Space Authority (CSA) is a member of the Get Relevance in Education and Learning (GetREAL) Coalition, dedicated to bringing business, labor and educators together in an effort to rebuild the Career Technical Education (CTE) infrastructure within California’s public schools. GetREAL will be hosting a CTE Summit on January 15 at the Sacramento Convention Center, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
