Dr. Stanley Rosen*
Chairman, CSA Board of Directors

Director, Strategic Development and Integration,
Boeing Satellite Systems

Dr. Stanley Rosen is Director of Strategic Development and Integration for Boeing Satellite Systems (BSS). He led Hughes Electronics' aerospace and ballistic missile defense systems planning and was Strategic Planning Director for Hughes Defense Systems. Mr. Rosen earned a BS from the U.S. Air Force Academy, a MS in Aerospace Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MS in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, and a Doctor of Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany. His last position in a distinguished 21-year military career was Director of Long Range Planning, Space Systems Division, Air Force Systems Command.


Celeste Ford*

Celeste Volz Ford is the founder and CEO of Stellar Solutions, Inc. In 2000, Ms. Ford launched Stellar Ventures, a venture investing and incubating activity focused on early stage technology development and market applications. In 2001, she co-founded QuakeFinder, LLC to research, develop, and market a technology that will enable global forecasts of seismic activity as a potential early warning system. Ms. Ford began her career as a guidance and control engineer for COMSAT (Communications Satellite Corporation) in 1978. She left COMSAT to become a project manager at the Aerospace Corporation. She then joined Scitor Corporation where she successfully started and grew a satellite launch business area. Ms. Ford has a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and a MS in Aerospace Engineering from Stanford University.


Stephen Bridge*

Stephen Bridge is the CEO for Frontier Technology Inc. Mr. Bridge has over 30 years of engineering and information technology experience, and has held key positions for Frontier Technology Inc, bd Systems Inc., Lockheed Corp., Martin Marietta Corp., Certainteed Corp., and The Boeing Company. Mr. Bridge is a Registered Mechanical Professional Engineer with a BS from Chico State University, California, and a MS in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.


Michael Gallo*

Mr. Gallo, President and Chief Operating Officer of Kelly Space & Technology, Inc., began his professional career as an officer in the USAF, managing Military Airlift Command facilities design and operations at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, California. In 1984, Mr. Gallo joined TRW Ballistic Missiles Division to support the USAF in the development and deployment of the Peacekeeper and Small ICBM Weapon Systems. In 1993 Mr. Gallo co-founded Kelly Space & Technology, Inc. (KST), a commercial Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV) and space technology development company, where he currently serves as President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Gallo is also Past Chairman, CSA Board of Directors.


Laurel Shockley*

Laurel Shockley is a Southern California Edison Economic and Business Development Project Manager. Prior to joining Edison, she was Director of Strategic Location and Expansion Services for KPMG, covering the eleven western states. She also served as Director of the California Trade and Commerce Agency's Southern California Regional Office for eleven years, and prior to that time, did economic development for the Santa Fe Railway Company. Ms. Shockley served on the California Employment Training Panel as the governor's appointee from 1997 to 2000. Ms. Shockley is currently on the board of directors for the California Space Authority, the Los Angeles County Workforce Investment Board, California Statewide Certified Development Corporation and the Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance.

General Hamel's career includes assignments in a variety of space acquisition, operations, policy and command positions, involving space and ground system development, intelligence, launch and on-orbit operations. He served as the Vice President's military advisor on arms control, and defense and space policy. Prior to assuming his current position, he led space operations and integration activities at Headquarters U.S. Air Force. Gen. Hamel has a BS in Aeronautical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration degree.

Lt. Gen. Donald Cromer, USAF (Ret.)***

From 1993-99, Donald Cromer served as President of Hughes Space and Communications (HSC), the world's leading manufacturer of commercial geostationary communications satellites. Gen. Cromer joined HSC in 1991 as Vice President, following a 32-year career in the U.S. Air Force. Attaining the rank of Lieutenant General, he served as Commander of Space Systems Division, Air Force Systems Command, Los Angeles Air Force Base. During his military career, Gen. Cromer conducted more than 100 space and missile launches, and managed the post-Challenger recovery of U.S. space launch capability. In addition to international satellite marketing expertise, Gen. Cromer's career involvement includes national, international, defense, commercial, launch, and satellite experience.

Mark Crowley*

Vice President, Program and Subcontract Management
Lockheed Martin Space Systems

Mark Crowley is Vice President of Program and Subcontract Management for Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company. Mr. Crowley has over 20 years of technical and program management experience in spacecraft, missile and re-entry vehicle programs, including time as Vice President of Technical Operations, Deputy Program Manager and Chief Systems Engineer on SBIRS High, and Director of Engineering in Remote Sensing.

Beginning his career at General Electric, and then at GE/Martin Marietta Astro Space, Mr. Crowley has led design and development efforts in areas of planetary entry probes, endo- and exo-atmospheric guided projectiles, and Earth remote-sensing spacecraft such as EOS and SBIRS. He has extensive experience in program proposals, holds various professional awards and honors, and has written numerous classified publications. Mr. Crowley has a BS in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois, a MS in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University, and is a graduate of the GE Edison Engineering Program. Additionally, he achieved another MS degree in Management through the Stanford Sloan Program.

Raymond Deutsch***

Raymond Deutsch, Senior Project Architect of Phillips Metsch Sweeney Moore, Architects, has served continuously on the Board of Directors, and was Founding Chairman of the California Space & Technology Alliance (CSTA). An early champion of economic development efforts supporting regional and California space activities, he served on the California Defense Conversion Council and chaired CSTA's Space Committee, overseeing the development of the 1998 California Space Strategic Plan. Deutsch recently retired as President of Hall Hurley Deutsch, Architects, Inc., a 19-person firm specializing in educational, institutional, industrial, and research facilities. A native Californian, he grew up in Silicon Valley, and now lives in Santa Maria.

James Diani***

James A. Diani is President of A. J. Diani Construction Co., Inc., a general building, general engineering and environmental remediation and restoration contractor. The company has a long history of service in the military and private sector related to the space launch industry. Mr. Diani currently represents Vandenberg's 30th Space Wing on the AFSPC Commander's Group. Mr. Diani also has a long and diverse history of professional and community involvement and was honored by the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce as its Citizen of the Year in 1997. Mr. Diani is Past Chairman of the CSA Board of Directors.

Kenneth Dozier**

Ken Dozier is the Executive Director of the USC School of Engineering, Technology Transfer Center (ETTC), and Principal Investigator of the NASA Far West Regional Technology Transfer Center. He also directs ten affiliate offices in eight western states, and manages an extensive portfolio of commercial and federal technologies. With an MSEE from USC and an Executive MBA from UCLA, Mr. Dozier expects to complete his PhD in Information Science at the Claremont Graduate University. Mr. Dozier is a recipient of the California Senate's 1999 Applied Competitive Technologies Excellence in Leadership Award.

Jeffrey Grant**

In his current role of Vice President, Business Development, Jeffrey Grant oversees Space Technology's strategy formulation, program development, marketing and discretionary investment. Prior to his current position, Mr. Grant has held a variety of government and private sector positions, most recently as Vice President and CTO, Astrolink International, LLC. He served for 21 years at the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) before entering the private sector. Mr. Grant received a BS in Ocean Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology and is the recipient of numerous CIA certificates and awards.
