California Space Week Washington DC

It's that time again – time to travel to Washington, D.C., to educate federal officials regarding vital space policy issues. We will meet with Congressional members and staff as well as executive branch officials from the White House, Department of Defense, NASA, Department of Labor, Department of Commerce, and the Department of State to discuss issues related to space exploration, education and workforce, space science, and homeland security.
During a series of scheduled meetings, CSA will connect you with federal elected representatives and executive branch officials that are essential to a robust future for space enterprise in California. You will also have opportunities to network with key federal government officials as well as representatives of the Governor's Washington DC office.
- California Space Week Washington DC will begin Tuesday, March 20, with a continental breakfast and orientation at 8:30 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 815 14th Street, Washington DC (across from the McPherson Metro Station). Orientation will include briefings by Washington insiders, including Executive Director Tim Ransdell of the California Institute, and lunch. Meetings with Congressional members and staff will begin following the orientation. Space Week participants will then gather for debriefing and dinner at the Hilton Garden Inn. On Wednesday, March 21, Space Week participants will meet with Congressional members and staff beginning at 9 a.m. and the day will end in a Capitol Hill reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in Room 2325 of the Rayburn House Office Building. Members of the California Congressional delegation and their staff will be invited to join us for this networking opportunity. Space Week participants will meet privately with executive branch officials from agencies such as the White House, Department of State, Department of Defense, Department of Transportation, Department of Commerce, and NASA on Thursday, March 22.
