CapitolIt's that time again – time to travel to Washington, D.C., to educate federal officials regarding vital space policy issues. We will meet with Congressional members and staff as well as executive branch officials from the White House, Department of Defense, NASA, Department of Labor, Department of Commerce, and the Department of State to discuss issues related to civil space, national security space, education and workforce, and export controls.

During a series of scheduled meetings, CSA will connect you with federal elected representatives and executive branch officials that are essential to a robust future for space enterprise in California. You will also have opportunities to network with key federal government officials as well as representatives of the Governor's Washington DC office.

California Space Week Washington DC will begin Tuesday, April 21, in the capitol offices of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, 444 N. Capitol Street, Suite 333. Space Week participants, along with Space Florida, will meet privately that day with key executive branch officials from agencies including the White House, Department of State, NASA, Department of Defense, Department of Transportation, and Department of Commerce from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There will be a CSA Members Appreciation Dinner that evening at 6 p.m. in Union Station.

On Wednesday, April 22, at 8:30 a.m., Space Week participants will meet with Senator Dianne Feinstein and her staff in the Senate Hart Office Building. That meeting will immediately be followed by an Orientation of Congressional issues important to California space enterprise in Room 210 of the Cannon Office Building. Space Week participants will meet with members of the House of Representatives and their staff on Wednesday beginning at 1 p.m. and continue through Thursday at 5 p.m. On Wednesday, the meetings will be followed by a unique networking opportunity – a Capitol Hill reception to which members and staff of both the California and Florida Congressional delegations have been invited.

If you would like to participate in California Space Week Washington DC, please contact Dianna Minor at (805) 349-2633, ext. 110. CSA would appreciate your registration for Space Week no later than April 3, 2009.
