Foothill Observatory![]() Operated by the Peninsula Astronomical Society, Foothill Observatory offers weekly public programs. These programs allow the public to directly view the wonders of the universe through the observatory's large astronomical telescopes. Lick Observatory![]() University of California Observatories/Lick Observatory conducts leading-edge research to answer the most profound questions in observational astronomy. Jimmy Doolittle Museum, Travis AFB Heritage Center![]() The museum is utilizing the former base commissary to display hardware, with plans to build a permanent glass and steel facility designed in the form of a stylized wind tunnel, as well as a soon-to-be-reassembled full-scale replica of the "bridge" of the U.S.S. Enterprise from the original Star Trek TV series (photo on right). The museum provides youth, students and scholars historical research facilities and inspirational exhibits. Minolta Planetarium![]() The Minolta Planetarium is located at DeAnza College in the heart of Silicon Valley. It provides a preeminent center for elementary, college-level, and public education in space science and technology, astronomy, the earth sciences and related disciplines.
NASA Ames Exploration CenterThe NASA Ames Exploration Center, where visitors can experience NASA technology and missions firsthand, recently added a number of fresh and exciting exhibits open to the public at no charge. The NASA Exploration Center has welcomed more than 150,000 visitors since it opened at the beginning of 2004 and has inspired tens of thousands of schoolchildren to become the next generation of space explorers. The facility is open to the public at no charge. Main Gate NASA Ames Research Center![]() NASA Ames Research Center is located at Moffett Field, California in the heart of "Silicon Valley". Ames was founded December 20, 1939 as an aircraft research laboratory by the National Advisory Committee on Aeronautics (NACA) and in 1958 became part of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Ames specializes in research geared toward creating new knowledge and new technologies that span the spectrum of NASA interests. NASA Ames Traveling ExhibitThis program provides displays for conventions, commemorative aerospace events and other special occasions. This is a limited program which includes displays, models and Moon rocks. Paramount's Great America![]() Amusement park and largest IMAX theatre in North America.
