Jimmy Doolittle Museum, Travis AFB Heritage Center
The museum is utilizing the former base commissary to display hardware, with plans to build a permanent glass and steel facility designed in the form of a stylized wind tunnel, as well as a soon-to-be-reassembled full-scale replica of the "bridge" of the U.S.S. Enterprise from the original Star Trek TV series (photo on right). The museum provides youth, students and scholars historical research facilities and inspirational exhibits.

NASA Ames Exploration Center
The NASA Ames Exploration Center, where visitors can experience NASA technology and missions firsthand, recently added a number of fresh and exciting exhibits open to the public at no charge. The NASA Exploration Center has welcomed more than 150,000 visitors since it opened at the beginning of 2004 and has inspired tens of thousands of schoolchildren to become the next generation of space explorers. The facility is open to the public at no charge.
